CURRENT EFFORTS
Art in conservation is not a new topic, but it is still an emerging one. Several artists and programs from around the globe have used art as a means to educate and inspire on topics of conservation and biodiversity and the issues facing both. Here I've selected a few of my favorites! There are more compiled in The Movement section of this page as well as in the Forum. Explore and be inspired!

Through macabre images of birds with stomachs lined of plastic, Jordan reminds us of our own plight of plastic pollution. We, much like the birds, can't discern between what is toxic and what is actually nourishing.

Using iron oxide collected from polluted streams, Sabraw makes remarkable works of art with the reduced pigments. His work calls attention to the issues of mine pollution as well as aids in the clean up of the polluted water.

Washed Ashore uses trash and plastic collected from beaches to create amazing sculptures. The resultant artwork serves to educate and inspire on the problems facing water pollution. Combining beauty with trash, the viewer is left in awe in many respects.
